Public Talk: Professor Marianne Franklin (Groningen)

On Thursday, 26 March 2026 at 17:00, the PGMT Lab through the EU-funded project REMIT (“Reignite Multilateralism via Technology”) will host a public discussion with Professor Marianne Franklin of the University of Groningen. The event, held at the Kleiner Saal of the Haus der Wissenschaft is open to the public and moderated by PGMT member Dr. Dennis Redeker.

Tackling the topic “Governing Digital Technologies in a New Era of Global Politics”, the conversation will tackle recent geopolitical pressures on digital governance as well as questions of normative change and stability, and challenges concerning the environmental sustainability of today’s technological change, including the AI race. Taking on the political challenges of the day, the conversation leaves room to analyze competing futures for digital governance.

The event is part of a workshop held at the University of Bremen and co-hosted by ZeMKI, Berenike Prem at the Institute of Intercultural and International Studies (InIIS) and the Section International Relations of the German Political Science Association (DVPW), of which Dennis is a co-speakers.

The REMIT project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme under grant agreement No 101094228. It aims to open up the research partners’ work by hosting public events such as this.
