PGMT member Dr. Dennis Redeker organizes an exhibition of science comics at the Haus der Wissenschaft in Bremen.
The communication of scientific methods and findings to the general public has been breaking new ground for some years now. This now includes media formats that were previously rarely associated with scientific communication. So-called science comics initially only conveyed academic knowledge to children and young people. Today they are also popular with the adult public.
The exhibition “Science Meets Art: Science Comics” by the Young Academy Fellows of the Academy of Humanities and Sciences in Hamburg presents 21 science comics in the Haus der Wissenschaft. The topics included in the exhibition originate from various fields of research: from psychology and physics to law and political science to philosophy and logic. The science comics project has been funded by the Academy of Humanities and Sciences in Hamburg.
On Wednesday, April 17 at 17:00h., the Haus der Wissenschaft will open the exhibition “Science Meets Art: Science Comics” with speeches by Prof. Dr. Gerold Wefer (Chairman of the Haus der Wissenschaft), Prof. Dr. Manfred Stöckler (Full Member of the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg) and, Dr. Dennis Redeker (ZeMKI and Young Academy Fellow of the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg), a first view of the exhibition, and a glas of sparkling wine.
The exhibition will run until 17 July 2024. More information about the exhibition can be found here.
