This week members of PGMT are on a MA class trip to re:publica 2023. With his MA research seminar “Social Media Platforms: Formation, Change, Governance”, Christian Katzenbach is visiting this major European conference and festival on the digital society. Students are attending sessions on platforms and AI in order to better understand the transformations and continuities in the emerging digital society.
In our MA Digital Media and Society, all students attend a full-year research seminar where they develop and work on their own research projects in small groups with tight supervision by professors. This year we are offering these research seminars on fields such as social media platforms (Christian Katzenbach), future of media (Andreas Hepp), and news avoidance (Stephanie Geise). All three groups are attending re:publica this year as part of a 2-days-excursion to Berlin.
